Credentials & Philosophy

I was drawn to the helping professions at a young age, and consider counseling to be my calling in life. I earned a Master’s degree in Clinical and Macro Social Work from Michigan State University, am licensed with the State of Michigan, and am also certified to provide substance abuse counseling. I have been practicing for over twenty years and truly love my chosen profession.

I believe it takes tremendous courage to reach out for assistance, and that we all have strengths, inner wisdom, and inherent worth. I also believe that all people deserve to be heard and respected. As a therapist, I strive to offer a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space where you can express yourself and work toward your goals. I see myself as a guide, listening closely and providing information, expertise, skills training, and support along the way. I believe very strongly that therapy – along with your efforts outside of sessions – can yield amazing results. I have witnessed this countless times by clients I have had the privilege of serving.
